NOVICA Review & $88 GC {GIVEAWAY!!}

I was so excited when I was approached by NOVICA to check out their site and do a review. It really is an amazing site. With over 2,000 artists from around the world, it is quite the experience shopping their site. I received two different packages. Each were wrapped beautifully with little notes about the piece, the person who made it, and about the place and culture where they live. I was so impressed with these little details that really make you realize where and how your new belongings were created.
I chose to review the Ate Grass Serving Tray from Bali. After I opened the package, I was so impressed. The tray smelled so earthy, foreign, and almost delicious. It is incredibly beautiful. I cannot believe that it was handmade. I imagine this serving tray taking quite some time, skill, and patience. I have it displayed in my guest bath and it is really breathtaking. The ate grass weave is tight and very well made. I love it.
I also received the Teak Jewelry Box, 'Royal Elephant' from Thailand. I have been wanting a small jewelry box for quite some time to keep my fun rings and earrings in, but hadn't found one I loved until I saw this one at NOVICA. I love the gorgeous elephant on the aluminum panel, making this jewelry box unique and special.

The inside of the box is lined with velvet and has slots for rings and a square for other jewelry. It is perfect for me and have already really enjoyed using it.
