Healthier Birthday Party
My family has made a conscious effort to live healthier, cleaner lives. We came to this decision after doing a lot of research on the effect of chemicals, fragrance, preservatives, dyes, and pesticides on our bodies after our daughter turned one. She has struggled with developmental delays, low muscle tone, and some sensory issues. Before we started to change our diets and lifestyle, our little girl was struggling to stay in control of her wild emotions. Her screaming and angry demeanor were too much. I have seen her attitude change dramatically, people. It is surprising how our bodies can react to the chemical imbalance brought into our system from garbage food and other toxins.
We all feel so happy and healthy. We are still learning and make mistakes (sometimes on accident, sometimes on purpose), but it sure has been fun learning what to avoid and what to enjoy.
Here are my two favorite processed free food blogs I read:
We avoid:
Enriched flour
MSG
Dyes
Preservatives
Hydrogenated (including partially) Oil
GMOs
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Any Ingredients that aren't actually food.
How We Shop:
We do about 90% of our grocery shopping at our local Farmer's Market.
Next we head to Trader Joe's. Always check the labels.
Lastly, we hit up our grocery store (usually for meat).
