Basic DIY Headboard

I just made my son's headboard. And I did it for $16! Oh yeah, baby! My father-in-law gave me an extra piece of plywood he had for free, and his wife lent me the Skil saw and staple gun. I recently found an insane fabric store where everything is $3.99 or less. It.Is.AWESOME!
I bought two yards of super thick, lined upholstery fabric and two really thick yards of batting.
I measured and cut the plywood.
Stapled the batting to the back of the wood.
Stapled the fabric.
Then, pushed it behind my sons bed.
It is surprisingly so comfortable and has completely changed his room.

I loveeee it. So does he. Such a cutie.
Do you have a favorite fabric store? Find any good deals lately? Make a headboard lately? Please share!
