Sprout baby glass bottle review and {GIVEAWAY!!}

As I'm sure many of you already know, at the beginning of 2008 news came out that containers made with Bisphenol A (BPA) were no longer safe to use for heating up food because the BPA chemical can leach out into whatever food you are heating. BPA is found in many plastic baby bottles so this caused quite a scare among mothers who had bottle fed babies.

Lucky for us, Sprout Baby has us covered. Their Born Free bottle is a glass bottle that is completely BPA free and has an "innovative air vent that helps eliminate colic." This bottle comes in a 4 or 9 oz. size with a level one nipple and cover.

Due to complications at birth resulting in a 2 week NICU stay, Graham came out of the hospital as a bottle fed baby. I had planned on nursing him and was not prepared with bottles for him. Unfortunately for me, I didn't know much about the BPA controversy at the time and went out and loaded up on the cheapest bottles I could find , which were not BPA free. Later I heard a few people talk about why you should use glass bottles but it seemed odd to me to put something glass in my diaper bag to bang around and possibly get broken. Again, Sprout Baby would have had me covered with their silicone sleeve to go around the bottle.

Their sleeve is free of plastics and 100% non-toxic. You can boil both the sleeve and the bottle as well as wash it in the dishwasher. The sleeve provides a "good gripping surface during feeding and also a great tactile experience for your baby." These bottles are a little more expensive then your average bottle, but so much safer the choice is easy.
