SwaddleDesigns Swaddle Duo Review

I am pretty in love with all my SwaddleDesigns products. And when I am in the mother's lounge at church full of mommy's and their nursing babies, everybody else seems to love SwaddleDesigns swaddle blankets, too. They are becoming quite the hit and more and more people are discovering their goodness and for good reason. They are awesome.I love hooded towels for my kids and since the one I got for my baby girl at Target got 2 holes in it after one wash, I was really looking for a hooded towel that would last, make my baby feel comfy and warm, and was as soft as she was. I received the SwaddleDesigns Organic Hooded Towel with Pastel Pink Mod Circles on Ivory. It was everything I was looking for and more. I have had the towel for nearly 4 months now and my 10 month old baby is still loving getting swaddled up in this goodness after every bath.

I also received a couple of SwaddleDesigns fabulous blankets. One of my favorite things about their swaddle blankets is that they include instructions on how to swaddle sewn right onto the blanket. So perfect for new mommies or for people like me who need to be reminded of the same instructions over and over again.
SwaddleDesigns recently introduced the Swaddle Duo which includes their Ultimate Receiving Blanket for moderate to cooler temperatures and the Marquisette Swaddling Blanket for warmer temperatures.
I learned some seriously great information about appropriate temperatures for our babies and how to prevent SIDS. I always knew overheating was a bad idea, but I hadn't heard about being too cold being just as dangerous. Please read:

“The SwaddleDesigns Goldilocks Guide™ ~ baby should not be too hot, or too cold, but just right ~ comfortably warm.”

The Goldilock’s Guide helps new parents remember the importance of keeping baby comfortably warm.

SwaddleDesigns strives to help new parents care for their baby by providing accurate and up-to-date information, so parents can may make informed choices. SwaddleDesigns Safe Sleep Program includes recommendations from the AAP and the NIH as the company strives to increase awareness of Safe Sleep practices and help parents reduce risk of SIDS.

According to leading SIDS researchers, both overheating AND overchilling are risk factors for SIDS. In addition, it’s important for parents to understand that when baby is too cool during sleep, baby will use valuable energy to stay warm instead of growing and thriving. Over the past few years some juvenile product companies have over focused on overheating as a SIDS risk factor, and there has been a lack of balanced conversation regarding insufficient thermal insulation – the danger of baby being too cool - as a risk factor for SIDS. It is time for a balanced information where parents are educated and reminded of their important responsibility to make sure baby is not too hot or too cold, but comfortably warm.

Rileyroos Baby Shoes Review

Shopping for baby shoes is so fun! I just love finding new styles for my children. Now that I have a baby girl, shoe shopping is even more fun. Is that possible?
Rileyroos has some seriously cute options for boys and girls. While everything they offer is super cute, they also have thoughtfully made their baby shoes easy to put on and comfortable.
Check out a couple of styles I love:
Sportie, for a more casual, on-the-go baby look.
Is it freezing where you are? Here, too. I just love these Caters boots, offered in pink, chocolate, and sandbox. They look so warm and comfy while still being so cute!
A penny loafer for a baby boy? Must have, adorable Quinn shoes.
More baby boots because it is so cold and these are so perfect. Bailey boots come in Cocoa or Rain.
I chose the Mary Jane in Cheetah for my baby girl. I just love how fun and stylish they are. These are perfect with her dresses, jeggings, or casual pants. My favorite things about these shoes (besides being so cute) is how easy they are to put on and the soft, flexible sole. I can slide my baby's foot in so easily and quickly which is important with those constantly moving baby legs. The sole's are soft and cushy and completely flexible, ensuring that my baby is able to move and grow in her shoes comfortably. I also love the added rubber bottoms that will help these shoes last longer. You can purchase the Mary Jane in a large range of colors for $32.00. We love Rileyroos baby shoes. You will, too.

CSNStores.com Three Drawer Dresser Review

As I have mentioned several times, I love browsing and shopping at CSNStores.com. With over 200 stores, they always have so many options at several price ranges of whatever I am looking for. Being on a tight budget, it was really important to me to find cheap bedroom furniture, but still sturdy, high quality, and safe for my new baby girl.
I received a gift card for the purpose of my review and chose to purchase the South Shore Smart Basics Three Drawer Chest in Chocolate. It is perfect for my daughter's nursery. The height is great for a child's room, allowing you to store toys and things they love at their height. The dresser is sturdy; I won't be worrying about it falling over on my daughter or falling apart with weight put on it or in it. The drawers slide in and out easily, but would be a struggle for a child to open, which I like. I also really love the handles. I think they look modern and stylish. I would definitely recommend this affordable dresser, especially for a child's bedroom!

BUY IT!
You can purchase the South Shore Smart Basics Three Drawer Chest for $74.99 with free shipping at CSNStores.com.

Baby Shower: aden + anais Classic Muslin Swaddling Blankets Review & {GIVEAWAY!!}

It is looking like our baby girl will have to make her arrival in about 3 weeks or less, depending if her lungs are developed at 36 weeks. I am getting really anxious to meet her and snuggle close to her. I am really looking forward to making her feel comfortable and welcomed to the world outside of my body. I love all of aden + anais products. Just like their motto says, their products are made for baby, designed for you. Take a look at some of their fabulous options:

Hooded towels and baby washcloths.
A Burpy Bib that serves as either a bib or a burp cloth!
I am dying over their baby Sleeping Bags, particularly in this adorable giraffe pattern.
I received the Baby Cakes Swaddles from the aden + anais Classic Muslin Collection for review. First of all, the patterns in this 4-pack are insanely cute; the cupcakes and fairies are my favorite! In addition, these are superb swaddling blankets! They are huge in size (perfect for myself, who is not the best at swaddling and needs the extra fabric to get it right), lightweight, get softer and softer with each wash, and the open weave helps regulate your baby's body temperature naturally. I also love how multi-functional these blankets are. They can be used for burp cloths, nursing covers, portable crib sheets (yes, they are that big!), changing table covers, and more. You can purchase a 4-pack of baby wraps for $44.00.

Baby Shower: Go Mama Go Designs Review

With so many new ways to keep your baby safe while sleeping, it is hard to keep up. I think Go Mama Go Designs has one of the best idea I have seen. I have heard that the traditional bumpers come with a risk of suffocation, strangulation, SIDS, and an easier way for older children to climb out of their cribs. Go Mama Go Designs has created the Wonder Bumper that keeps your baby safe and comfortable. The Wonder Bumper has an individual bumper on each crib rail to protect your baby's head while allowing circulation. You never have to remove these bumpers. Check out a couple of their super cute options:
Tickled Pink Bumpers.
Hayden Stripes Bumpers.
I received the Chocolate Ruffle Crib Skirt. My bedding set didn't come with a crib skirt and since the bedding is very patterned, I wanted something simple, but still sweet. I think it turned out great. I love how long it is so I can store stuff under the crib. My last crib skirt didn't stay in place very well, but this one fits perfectly under the mattress. I love it.
I also received the Chocolate Minky Changing Pad Cover. I love it so much and it is on sale for only $7.99! I think my baby girl will love it and be really comfortable during diaper changes. The fabric is so soft and smooth. I have washed it and it stayed feeling silky. My changing pad is pretty long and flat, instead of contoured, and it still fit. It is quite stretchy and would probably fit over any changing pad.
Lastly, I received the Pink & Chocolate Dots Changing Cover. I chose two different changing pad covers just in case one of them didn't fit my abnormal changing pad. Unfortunately, this is the one that didn't fit. It would fit a contoured changing pad perfectly, though. I am still excited to give it to one of my friends with a baby girl. I love the brown dots on pink. It is so cute!
BUY IT!
Everything I received is really high quality, inexpensive, well made, and will be perfect for my baby! Make sure to check out Go Mama Go Designs for all of their great items!

Baby Shower: SwaddleDesigns Review & {GIVEAWAY!!}

SwaddleDesigns offers some incredible products. Everything looks so luxurious, thoughtful, and comfortable. I saw several things I actually wish were adult sized so that I could snuggle up in comfort and softness. Of course, I have those same desires for my new baby. I want to spoil her with anything that makes transitioning to being outside of the womb a pleasure. Check out a few things that I am now considering as must-haves:
I love their pretty hooded towels.
Their wearable blankets are perfect for your baby when he/she has outgrown being swaddled.
I received the Ultimate Receiving Blanket for review. I have mentioned before how I was absolutely horrible at swaddling my son. I could never remember how do it right, the baby blanket wasn't big enough, or he would find a way out. My attempts at swaddling him only lasted a couple of weeks before both him and I were frustrated and over it. However, I am determined to make it work with my daughter. I feel swaddling is very important and healthy for a new baby who is trying to adapt to their new world. I don't think I had the right tools with my son, but I am positive this swaddling blanket will make swaddling a breeze.
Their receiving blankets include sewn on instructions of how to do the perfect swaddle. If ever you forget, you can refer right to your blanket. So smart!
My favorite part of the Ultimate Receiving Blanket is how giant it is! Not only does this make swaddling easier, it makes it possible to swaddle longer. You can also use this blanket as a nursing cover, tummy time mat, sun shield, and more.
I also received this gorgeous Stroller Blanket in Pink Puff Circles. I am so crazy about this blanket. I have already decided that this will be my daughter's main blanket, you know, the one she always has to have. It is so soft and the trim is so silky. It is the perfect size to tuck your baby in her stroller or wrap her into dreamland comfort. I washed the blanket and to my surprise, it remained cushy and as if it had never been washed. I already packed both of these blankets into my hospital bag so that my baby will be so cozy. Serious must-haves! Use the code 'MadeinUSA' to receive 10% off any regular priced items.

Baby Shower: Marshalls Review

I think most people would say money is tight right now. My family is no exception. Even though our budget is extra tight, I still have a pretty strong desire to buy cute things for our new addition, spoil our son, and pick up things for my husband and I. There aren't a lot of stores I will let myself step into anymore because sometimes those desires can't be controlled. Am I right? However, Marshalls is a store I feel confident I will find some amazing deals that won't break the bank.
Marshalls has options for the entire family. They offer shoes, bags, children's, women's, men's junior's, housewares, baby, and so much more. I, of course, wanted to do some shopping for our baby girl. My goal was to find a fancy church dress, but I found a couple of other goodies as well. Check out these amazing deals:

Ballet socks for $5.99. I had bought boy socks similar to these for my son and they had cost about $22 so I was pretty impressed with this bargain.
The perfect church dress! I love it so much! It came with the matching diaper cover for only $12.99.
I also have been searching for a backpack for my son that has a leash to keep some control over him while we are out. He actually loves it and tries to run really fast because he thinks it is hilarious when I pull him back. So although I am aware people have mixed feelings about putting your child on a leash, my wild child loves it and I feel like he can run kind of free while still being safe. The cheapest I have been able to find these were for $10 and I found mine at Marshalls for $6.99. Love it!
BUY IT!
I definitely recommend shopping at Marshalls for some serious bargains!!

Baby Shower: Bright Starts Fun on Safari Portable Swing Review

On my list of absolute baby essentials is diapers, wipes, blankets, onesies, and a portable swing. I am serious. I don't know what I would have done without the swing that my sister-in-law so generously let me borrow with my son. I used the swing during my meals, showers, or during my son's really fussy times. Since I have moved, I needed to find my own portable swing for the new baby. Bright Starts has great, affordable options.

I received the Bright Starts Fun on Safari Portable Swing. I know it will be absolutely perfect for my needs. This swing is really compact and lightweight which will be great for carrying around after my c-section. I love how bright and fun the colors and attached toys are to keep baby even more content. I am also impressed that a portable swing has 2 reclined positions, one for play and one for relaxing. This baby swing has 6 speeds, 6 melodies, and 3 timer settings: 15, 30, and 45 minutes. It swings smoothly and peacefully. One of the coolest features of this swing is that it recognizes your baby's weight and adjusts itself to maintain a consistent swing speed.
Storing the swing is really convenient. It folds almost flat. This is great for taking your swing along in the car wherever you go, storing in closets or tight places, and for carrying the swing around your home.

BUY IT!
You can purchase the Bright Starts Fun on Safari Portable Swing for $49.99.

I am pretty sure the best invention in baby food are these pouches that older children can drink right out of. My two year old still loves them. Ella's Kitchen has options that are super delicious. I love to pick them up for a healthy treat for my son. I was so excited to find out that they have come out with 4 new flavors: two new stage 1 baby food and two smoothie fruits.
