Thrifted Dresser Turned Television Console

After
Here is our new beauty of a television console. I had been looking for something like this for like...ever. When I saw those skinny legs teasing me at the thrift store, I ran to it. And then I ran to the owner to ask how much she would sell it to me for. It was missing a drawer so I figured that would be a good bargaining tool, but I didn't even need to bargain...she said $15! Sold!
You remember the Before?
What did I do?
I scrubbed and vacuumed this beast.
Painted white the inside of the cubby where the missing drawer was and the sides of the drawers on either side of the cubby.
Painted all the drawers white.
Yeah...my television is no show stopper, but our new TV stand makes me so happy.
I accessorized it with books and some white ceramic friends I picked up at T.J. Maxx for $10 each.

This piece really makes our rental feel more like home. What have you been doing to make your house feel like your home?

  1. This is fun! I have a dresser that I plan to paint and use for a TV stand, too. Thanks for posting. I am visiting from Primitive and Proper...

    1. Thanks, Cassie! You're so sweet to always comment on everyone who links up. I have a hard time finding the mid-century style at my local thrift stores so when I do, I snatch it right up!! :)

  3. What a great use for the missing drawer! I just painted a dresser to use as my tv stand as well, but it isn't anywhere near as cute.

    1. Probably because you have yet to add hardware. Get with it.
