A staple in our house is homemade meatballs with whole wheat pasta and sauce. Like pretty much all family staples, this recipe is easy and my kids even enjoy a meatball or two.
Easy and Delicious Meatballs:
1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1/2 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup freshly shredded mozzarella or parmesean
1/2 tablespoon oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Sea salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 375. Combine all ingredients. Form into 2 inch balls. Bake for about 20-25 mins or until brown. I like a crispy bottom and the mozzarella keeps the meatballs nice and moist.
Serve with pasta and sauce or on a sandwich or whatever your heart desires.
