I included Allie's fabric for her curtains in my mood board. I chose the Monaco Linen Ikat Contemporary Drapery Fabric. It has grey and beige and white and the color and pattern is just perfect for adding a touch of modern sophistication to her room. The fabric is thick and luxurious. I clearly need a new curtain rod to really show off my new pretties, but I'll get that done once we move.
I'm a terrible sewer. Like probably the worst ever so yeah, don't consider this a tutorial.
To make my curtains, I measured, hemmed the sides, pinned the top and bottom leaving an opening on top for the curtain rod.
Then, of course, I got out my handy dandy seam ripper and did it all over again because they looked crazy. I can't decide if it's my measuring, my pinning, or my sewing, but I can never sew anything right the first time.
Anyway, they worked out and I'm crazy about the curtains. For me, they totally make her room.
Love, love, love.
I'm also a big fan of the pattern repeat n the curtains and the rug (more on that later). There is a lot of pattern mixing in this room so a little repeat helps make it work.
I can't wait to post more of this room so you can see how everything works together and how awesome the curtains really are.
If you are interested in the curtain fabric, you can purchase it at buyfabrics.com.
It's called Monaco Linen Ikat for $22.95/yard.
Now wait till you see more of the rug with the curtains. So pretty.
My seam ripper and I are good friends as well : ) The curtains look great! Love the pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I wish we could be seam ripping together! Miss you!
DeleteLovely curtains, thanks for sharing. Everyone has there favourite type of curtains and mine have to be Sanderson Dandelion Clocks curtains. They are modern however, they have a retro feel to them and bring a touch of character to the home.
